The Washington Theological Consortium, a community of theological institutions of diverse
Christian traditions, has as its mission to provide an ecumenical context, within the region of the nation’s capital,
for equipping leaders to serve the mission and ministry of the Church in the world. These videos are public events from 2012
and include a variety of ecumenical lectures by Church leaders and ecumenists.
These recordings include all the liturgical services of the Romanian Greek Catholic Monastery
of the Holy Resurrection located in Valyermo, California during a weekend visit. The services include Friday evening
Vespers, Saturday Matins and Liturgy, Saturday evening Great Vespers, Sunday Matins and Sunday Divine Liturgy.
These recordings include several Divine Liturgies and other services for Christmas in the
Carpathian Mountains, including Bratislava and Uzhorod. Two liturgies were served by Bishop Milan Sasik in the Uzhorod
and Mukachevo Cathedrals, and two were served for nearby villages by Bishop Sasik outdoors in the church cemetery where Orthodox
congregations will not permit the Greek Catholics to use the church building.
These recordings include six categories of liturgical music by the Blessed Theodore Romzha
Seminary Choir, and the last concert during their tour of Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic parishes. Music categories include
Divine Liturgy, Vespers and Panachida, Marian Hymns, Eucharistic Hymns, Lenten & Pascha Hymns, and the Eight Tones (Octoechos)
sung according to the Plain Chant melodies of the Carpathian Mountains.
These recordings include various Holy Week and Pascha services at the Blessed Theodore Romzha
Seminary and Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Uzhorod, Ukraine, especially the Holy Thursday Divine Liturgy with the washing
of the feet of priests by Bishop Milan Sasik, and Resurrection Matins and Divine Liturgy.
For the 40th anniversary of the death of Blessed Theodore Romzha, the bishops of the Ruthenian
Greek Catholic Church gathered in Uzhorod, Ukraine, and these recordings are of the various liturgical celebrations during
that week.
An ecumenical gathering of Church leaders, theologians and music experts took place at the
Blessed Theodore Romzha Seminary in Uzhorod, Ukraine to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the publication of the Book of
Prostopinije (Plain Chant Singing) of the Carpathian Mountains developed by Father Ivan Boksai. These recordings
are the various liturgical celebrations that took place during that conference.
These other events include a Melkite Patriarchal Divine Liturgy in Rome,
Hierarchical Divine Liturgy of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Synod in Washington, and the Funeral services of Archbishop
Vsevolod of Scopelos.
Also included is a special education program
called "Safeguarding Our Children" from the Melkite Greek Catholic Eparchy of Newton.
